Yiwu Shortlisted in the First Batch of Digital Trade Demonstration Zones in Zhejiang Province

The first batch of 8 Digital Trade Demonstration Zones in Zhejiang Province was announced by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province. Yiwu City was successfully shortlisted for the Digital Trade Demonstration Zones in Zhejiang Province.

In recent years, the rising scale of trade in Yiwu has stimulated the development potential of digital trade. In 2022, the total volume of import and export trade in Yiwu reached 478.8 billion yuan, of which the total volume of export amounted to 431.64 billion yuan. Both the volume of import and export and the scale of export exceeded 400 billion yuan for the first time. From January to October this year, the import and export volume of Yiwu has reached 476.8 billion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 19.8%, of which the export volume amounted to 421.71 billion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 16.9%. The foreign trade volume of Yiwu is expected to exceed 500 billion yuan during the year.

In the future, Yiwu will seize the opportunity of Digital Trade Demonstration Zones in Zhejiang Province, promote the citywide linkage development, focus on the digitization of trade in small commodities and digital service trade based on Yiwu Free Trade Development Zone, deepen the innovation of trade system and mechanism, optimize the trade ecology through the government guidance and the leading role of enterprises, improve the digital trade full-link services marked by the three major platforms of digital trading, trade fulfillment and financial settlement, make every effort to build a global digital trade center for small commodities and make more contributions to the development of digital trade in Zhejiang Province.
