According to the unified deployment of the National Bureau of Statistics, taking 00:00 on November 1, 2023 as the standard time point, a 5‰ sample survey on population changes was conducted by Yiwu Municipal Bureau of Statistics in the 51 surveyed neighborhoods in the sample. Based on the sample survey results, it is projected that the permanent resident population of Yiwu has reached 1,903,000 at the end of 2023, which is an increase of 15,000 people compared with the permanent resident population of 1,888,000 at the end of 2022. The number of permanent resident population in Yiwu ranks first among all counties (cities and districts) in Jinhua. We can see that behind the upward curve of the population growth in Yiwu is an equally upward curve of economic growth. In 2023, the GDP of Yiwu has reached 205.562 billion yuan with the economic output ranking among the top ten counties (cities and districts) in Zhejiang Province.
