Recently, the Research Results Release Conference of Chinese Cities’ Convention and Exhibition Industry Competitiveness Indices in 2025 was held in Chengdu. At the conference, the China Convention/Exhibition/Event Society published the Report on Chinese Cities’ Convention and Exhibition Industry Competitiveness Indices in 2024 and the list of the Most Competitive Convention and Exhibition Cities of China in 2024. Yiwu continued to lead in terms of the convention and exhibition industry competitiveness and ranked first among county-level cities across the country.

Yiwu’s market provides unique advantages for the development of the convention and exhibition industry. From Jan. to Oct., the city successfully held 17 mature exhibitions for more than four sessions, with an average exhibition scale of over 40,000 square meters. Among them, there were 7 exhibitions with a scale of over 50,000 square meters and 12 exhibitions with each ranking among the top three of similar-scale exhibitions or foreign trade-oriented exhibitions in the country. The Artificial Flower Exhibition and the Joint Hardware Exhibition achieved “full occupancy” for the first time.

In addition, Yiwu has stimulated convention and exhibition enterprises to enhance their brand awareness. In 2025, two new exhibition projects applied for the UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) approval. As of the end of Oct., a total of 1,450 foreign trade enterprises and 3,070 person-times, as well as 28 groups, from Yiwu participated in 189 overseas exhibitions.
