On November 15, Ye Bangrui, Mayor of Yiwu City, met with Melissa Skerrit, Minister of Housing and Urban Development of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and her delegation. The two sides jointly signed a memorandum on friendly exchanges between Yiwu City and Roseau City and exchanged special souvenirs. In accordance with the memorandum, the two sides will carry out practical and diversified exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, education, culture, tourism, sports to further cultivate and develop the friendly relations between the two cities, and promote mutual benefits and progress. Yiwu has become the first city in China to sign a memorandum on friendly exchanges with the Commonwealth of Dominica. Over the years, China and the Commonwealth of Dominica have established a profound friendship, which has shown the world a model of a big country and a small country working together for the well-being of their people. Based on the profound friendship, the cooperation between Roseau City and Yiwu City has a good foundation and broad prospects. Greta Roberts, Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Martin Charles, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to China, Wang Lei, Counselor of the Latin American and Caribbean Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and Luo Zupan, Vice Mayor of Yiwu City, participated in the meeting and signing ceremony.
