On Mar. 1, Greenland Chaoyangmen was crowded with people, where the two-day “Youth in Voluntary Action, Flowers Along the Way”-themed Fifth Yiwu Volunteer Expo and “Civilized Yiwu, Warmest in Zhejiang”-themed “Learn-from-Lei Feng” Volunteer Service Month kicked off. Yang Xian, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Director of the Social Work Department, and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, attended the opening ceremony.

This “Volunteer Expo” was jointly sponsored by the Social Work Department under the Municipal Party Committee, the Yiwu Civilization Office, the Yiwu Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Civil Affairs Bureau of Yiwu, the Yiwu Charity Federation, and Choucheng Sub-district and undertaken by the Yiwu Youth Volunteers Association. It aims to convey the concept of public welfare to the entire society and further create a favorable atmosphere of “citywide volunteerism and civilized Yiwu”. At the “Volunteer Expo”, various public welfare organizations showcased representative and influential projects. Over 50 social organizations and volunteer teams, including the Love Commune, the Public-welfare Little Angels, the Future Message Public Welfare Volunteer Association, and the Choucheng “Belt and Road” International Volunteer Service Team, enhanced the cohesiveness between volunteers and social organizations and boosted the sustainable development of social organizations through public service project displays, public welfare activities, courteous treatment for volunteers, public-welfare good deeds, and other forms.
