Yiwu’s Total Value of Exports Exceeded CNY 200 Billion in the First Four Months

From Jan. to Apr. this year, Yiwu realized a total value of imports and exports of CNY 231.31 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%, among which, the value of exports was CNY 203.24 billion, growing by 15.3% and breaking through the CNY 200 billion mark for the first time, and the value of imports was CNY 28.07 billion, increasing by 13.5%. The shares of the total value of imports and exports, value of exports, and value of imports in the province were 13.2%, 15.5%, and 6.4%, respectively.

From the perspective of the main trading markets in the first four months, Yiwu’s foreign trade has been flourishing on multiple fronts, maintaining strong resilience and risk resistance capacity. From Jan. to Apr., Yiwu achieved import and export values of CNY 38.84 billion, CNY 38.21 billion, CNY 23.47 billion, and CNY 22.88 billion with Africa, Latin America, ASEAN, and the EU respectively, increasing by 8.7%, 18.3%, 12.3%, and 15.5% respectively. During the same period, the total value of imports and exports with the countries under the Belt and Road Initiative reached CNY 154.1 billion, up 14.2%, accounting for 66.6% of Yiwu’s total value of imports and exports in the same period.

In terms of imported goods, consumer goods accounted for more than half. From Jan. to Apr., Yiwu imported CNY 15.19 billion of consumer goods, an increase of 4.1% and accounting for 54.1% of the city’s total import value. Among them, it imported CNY 1.53 billion of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 73.4%, and CNY 0.57 billion of high-tech products, an increase of 24.3%.
