On the afternoon of May 26, a “Yiwu-Ningbo Zhoushan Port” sea-rail intermodal train, fully loaded with various small commodities, construction materials, and PV products, departed from Yiwu with a long whistle and arrived at Beilungang Station of Ningbo Zhoushan Port on the same day. That train also enjoyed the convenience brought by the construction of the “Sixth Port Area”, realizing “one declaration, one inspection, and one release”, which further improved the efficiency of export customs clearance and reduced logistics costs. Since the beginning of this year, the Market Development Commission of Yiwu, International Land Port Group, Yiwu Customs, and the railway department have constantly enhanced the service level of Yiwu Railway Port through a series of measures, such as strengthening the organization of goods sources, optimizing facility resources, and deepening regional cooperation. Currently, more than 300 freight forwarders in Yiwu are engaged in the sea-rail intermodal business, and over 20 shipping companies have settled down to carry out container management business. Relying on the dual-channel advantages of Ningbo Zhoushan Port and Wenzhou Port, the sea-rail intermodal trains make 3 to 4 trips per day on a regular basis. From Jan. to Apr. this year, the “Yiwu-Ningbo Zhoushan Port” sea-rail intermodal trains transported over 30,000 TEUs, showing a steady growth trend.
